For a regular student, the selection process is done by an advisor, in the specific research area, in which all candidates apply and compete with each other following the selection criteria: Curriculum Vitae (specific form) (40%); Undergraduate official transcripts (candidates for Master's degree) and Master's degree (both official transcripts for Doctoral candidates) (15%); Draft of dissertation or thesis research (40%) and presentation letters (5%). The advisor evaluates, whose guiding principles are exemption, impartiality, and, above all, meritocracy. These principles are followed by virtue of the publication being public and allowing the application of candidates from any national or international location, thus following the principle of equality. In the draft of dissertation or thesis research, the candidate's ability to carry out the state-of-the-art from the theoretical referential, quality of scientific writing, and proper use of the scientific method to reach the proposed objectives is evaluated. For Doctoral candidates, project uniqueness is also evaluated. The special student entry process occurs directly by the professor of the subject, considering education background, area of activity, and Curriculum.
