The advisor evaluates, whose guiding principles are exemption, impartiality, and, above all, meritocracy. These principles are followed by virtue of the publication being public and allowing the application of candidates from any national or international location, thus following the principle of equality. In the draft of dissertation or thesis research, the candidate's ability to carry out the state-of-the-art from the theoretical referential, quality of scientific writing, and proper use of the scientific method to reach the proposed objectives is evaluated.
